Port of Spain, August 12, 2026 – Global Trinidad and Tobago (GlobalTT), through its Film Commission, in partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry’s Orange Economy Committee, will host the Carnival Catwalk: From Conception to International Distribution Industry Masterclass on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
The one-day Masterclass is designed for export-ready producers, production companies, filmmakers and other creative industry stakeholders. Using the internationally recognised Carnival Catwalk television series as a case study, the session will examine how Caribbean intellectual property can move from concept and production to financing, investment and international distribution.
Participants will receive practical guidance on developing commercially viable intellectual property, meeting professional production standards, attracting investment and preparing content for international markets. A representative of international distribution company Passion Distribution will join virtually to explain what distributors look for and how producers can position projects for a distribution deal.
For the sector, the Masterclass addresses a critical gap between creative talent and commercial readiness. For Trinidad and Tobago, the wider value lies in helping more local content become exportable products, supporting enterprise growth, building specialised skills and creating opportunities to earn revenue from intellectual property developed at home.
The seminar forms part of GlobalTT’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Trinidad and Tobago’s screen industry and to building a sustainable ecosystem in which local stories become globally competitive creative products.

Minister of Trade, Investment and Tourism, Senator the Honourable Satyakama Maharaj, said the initiative supports the Ministry’s objective of expanding non-energy exports. “Programmes of this kind must connect talent to measurable economic opportunity. By helping creators build market-ready intellectual property and understand the route to international distribution, we are strengthening the industry’s ability to attract investment, reach new audiences and generate value for Trinidad and Tobago.”
